National Pilgrim Paths Week 2023
Join ‘Walk with Pius’ on Easter Monday to explore Inish Cathaigh (Scattery Island) as part of National Pilgrim Paths Week 2023. Inish Cathaigh or Scattery Island is an island in the Shannon Estuary, off the coast of Kilrush, County Clare. The island is home to a lighthouse, a ruined monastery, an Irish round tower and the remains of an artillery battery. Saint Senan is patron of Scattery Island.

Date: Easter Monday, April 10th, 2023
Time: 10.00am – 1.15pm
Meeting point: Scattery Island Tours Ticket Office, Kilrush Marina, Kilrush, County Clare at 9.45am.
Itinerary:
Depart Kilrush Marina at 10am
Inspirational Walk & Sightseeing of Scattery Island from 10.30am – 12.45pm
Depart Scattery Island at 12.45pm
Return to Kilrush Marina at 1.15pm
Time on island: 2.5 hours.
Walk leader: Pius Murray
Terrain: Easy, walking trail & grassy areas.
Fitness: Moderate, easy pace with walkers staying together during the walk.
Gear: Warm waterproof clothing, comfortable walking boots/shoes/runners.
Food/Drink: Water/fluids, snack & packed lunch.
Contribution: €15. Proceeds go to Pilgrim Paths Ireland.
Boat Fare: €30 for return boat ride to Scattery Island.
